Creating conditions where people want to do their best work

This reflection is not an evaluation. It is an invitation to notice how others experience your leadership and to consider one small shift that helps people feel energized, valued, and engaged.

Most meaningful accomplishments require motivation. When you think about your own proudest moments, motivation was likely present, whether it came from challenge, learning, purpose, or ownership.

People are not motivated in the same way. Assuming that everyone should be motivated by the same things, or motivated simply because it is their job, often leads to frustration on both sides. Motivating others means recognizing differences and adjusting how you lead accordingly.
